Research

Heart Watch is a research project on secondary prevention of Coronary Artery Disease in collaboration with the Irish College of General Practitioners. This project has demonstrated that chronic disease management in primary care is a cost effective intervention that reduces mortality, improves quality of life and enjoys levels of patient satisfaction that exceed those at the hospital level.

Research currently in progress at our sister practice Enniscorthy Medical Centre in collaboration with University College Dublin School of Medicine and Medical Science includes:

  • Cardiac Arrest and automated defibrillators  in General Practice
  • ECGs and Undiagnosed Atrial Fibrillation in General Practice

Advanced Paramedic Training
Enniscorthy Medical Centre is delighted to be a training practice for the Advanced Paramedic Training Programme and to contribute to the further developement of this essential service.
